I just started learning about monetizing and affiliate programs a couple of months ago. There’s a lot to learn from using affiliate networks and running ads. I wouldn’t necessarily say that I'm a pro or have a strategy but I have a favorite affiliate network that I like to use for coupons, deals, and discounts which I love to share with my readers on my coupon blog.
Monetizing your blog with affiliate ads?
One of the easiest way to begin monetizing your blogs with affiliate ads is to write posts about products that you actually use. If you have a large following or readership and you write about something you like to use, it speaks volumes on the product and can help you start earning money. Once you write your blog post, you can add your unique link back to the company’s site. For deals posts, I will include a “Call to Action”such as CLICK HERE! embedded with my a link. They call this an affiliate referral link. They can either be text links or a banner ad with graphics.
Another way to monetize your blog with affiliate ads is to add an ad to your post for a product that may be related to what you are talking about. So if you are talking about cooking, you may post a small banner ad in the middle of your post that would be about an online special for cook books or cookware.
Escalate Network
This is a review on an affiliate program I've been using called Escalate Network. So far I really like working with this company, they keep current and updated opportunities. I have a great affiliate manager, Chris who emails me everyday with what is new and gives me tips on how to best utilize the offers available. I can email him anytime with questions or concerns. He's awesome!
Offers: Above Average
They have a lot of great offers for quick conversions. Many of the offers are FREE for people to sign up. Things like restaurant or store newsletters. Online deals such as; if a customer purchases you also can earn money via that method. With Escalate they have offers related to coupons, diet, education, food and grocery, fashion and beauty and surveys. There are usually over 50 different offers with various different banners and links. You can also use the banners to post onto your blog side bars as well. If you look at my side bars, you'll find a few. I like to change them every couple of days or so.
Payout and Billing: Above Average
I rated this method as above average because the threshold is low enough that you don’t have to wait too long to get payment. As long as you make $25 in commissions, you’ll get paid via paypal. Some affiliate programs don't pay out until you reach $100.00, that's not as easy as it may seem when you're just getting started.
Other Features: Above Average
The variety of features and offers they provide help to appeal to different interests your readers may have. There are offers for clothing, shoes, fast food restaurants, office supplies/stationary, product samples and more!
My Recommendation for Escalate Network: Above Average
If you're just starting out with affiliate programs or if you're just curious, you should give Escalate Network a try! I have affiliate accounts with Google Affiliates, Commission Junction, and Impact Radius. They're all great and offer wonderful programs. But, I have to say Escalate is my favorite.
